Tomás, a busy Irish-language TV producer, is a private man, who likes to keep things quiet and ordered. He takes his wife Siobhan and their beloved baby son Oisín to their secluded holiday home, on a north coast island, as frequently as he can. They don't go out, they don't interact with the locals – he just wants to enjoy the peace. And he does, until he receives an urgent call from work – he's needed back on the mainland. He knows he can't delegate – any time he leaves someone else to do his work, it goes wrong. He'll have to go himself and leave his family on the island. Later that day Tomás returns to the island to find that his wife, their baby, and all trace of them gone. An investigation by the island's only police officer, the elderly Labhaoise, exposes that not all is as it seems. With a storm forecast for that night, they search the island only to discover something: his wife's abandoned car and a body on the beach. The body of a man.
